Where is everyone staying?

Is there a NJC officially scheduled for this year? I know D&K wanted to avoid the mega-scale of last year, but are there any dates in place yet? I bid for October in the next few days.

October 8&9. I think they're still planning on the main event one of those days. Not sure though.

I just booked at the Fairfield Marriott, off the strip.

Looks like everything but the stratosphere and travelodge are too high this year. I've been waiting to see if any steals come out but with rates this high, i doubt there will be any. If you don't have a room by now, you too might want to just stay off strip and either drive in or cab it.

If anything, at least we'll get some points :)

Has anyone had an opportunity to call the Westin and see if they're offering crew rates?

Were probably going to stay at the Tuscany it's behind Bally's and walkable to the strip.....or I think there is a super 8 back there thats about 50 bucks a night also walkable to the strip. Terribles is ok and they have a good crew rate but just not quite walkable.....

Imperial Palace, Tropicana, Riviera and CC have rates under 150. Excalibur is 180ish a night... holy cow that's a lot for that place.

I just became about 99% sure that I will be going out there with DPA, but need a place to stay that is convenient and cheap. Unless someone needs a room-mate for a few days and would want to split something?

Circus Circus, Excalibur and Stratosphere are all under 100 right now. Probably the cheapest you'll find in Vegas.. Everywhere else is pretty much sold out.

Terribles off the strip?

Fair enough. I guess it's kind of up there all alone these days now that the Sahara is gone... Terrible's probably wouldn't be a terrible location either. Short cab ride, but too far to walk at 7am.

What exactly is happening Oct 8th & 11th? I can clue you folks in to lots of the free and cheap here. Also have a lot of coupons. The Super 8 close to the strip is a nasty hotel but cheap, wouldn't recommend it. It's also home to Ellis Island Casino, good cheap micro brew ($1.75 for 20 oz, $1 during NFL games), great cheap BBQ, others on this site can attest to that. Terrible's, is OK, I think SouthWest crews stay there. Tuscany is nice, stayed there a couple times. Also good cheap bar next to Bally's, $1 beers, and $2 beer and a shot , 1/2 block from the strip. Anyone needs any info, let me know. Also locals sometimes can get deals, especially at Terrible's.
