We also have our Multi Engine Career Package available for $37,025 (for those without a private pilot certificate) or $33,325 (for those who already hold a private). This also can be customized to meet the needs of those who already have more flight time or ratings already. This program includes everything (170 or 130 SE, 115 ME; unlimited instruction, on-site housing, checkrides, writtens, materials, and tax) to complete Private through all Instructor ratings. Same time frame applies to this offer. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.:)

I'm sure yall will fill those slots up real quick with those amazing prices. :)
Can you do a 50 or 100hr time building package on the twin?

We are extending the time for the reduced prices until October 15th. We've had a lot of interest and I keep hearing how unbelievable these prices seem. Please let me assure you that this is for real - no fine print or hidden charges. We may not be the biggest name flight school, but we are dedicated to the success of our students and will do whatever we can to help people reach their goals.

Thanks!

I noticed in the original post, the times included were 40 hours for Pvt and 50 for Inst. What is the policy for going over time? I think the national average for Pvt is somewhere in the 50-55 hour range.

I'm not saying you are low-balling the quote but want everybody to realize what the policy is for this contingency...

If you go over on flight hrs - you pay for them at the hourly rate which is the same price that is paid in the rest of the package.
We don't for instance charge you say $70 an hour in the package, and if you go over, we charge you $100 an hour. NO! And we do not charge for extra instruction or housing. We do our best to get people to finish in the 40-45 hr range, and they do finish within that time.
The bottom line is that I can't tell a person exactly how long it will personally take them to get a rating until I have worked with them. And neither can any other instructor or school out there. What I can tell you is that we are not out to gouge people.
I base the programs lengths off of requirements and experience.

Thanks,

Sherri

Sherri,

Thanks for the info. I'm sure a lot of people in or looking into the program will be happy to hear this. Best of luck out there as I'm sure it is a tough market.

I just noticed some dicussion on another forum about Star-Bright that raised some questions that I would like to respond to.
1. Our Twin Comanche burns 16 gallons an hour and fuel here is 3.65/gallon. Our planes are insured, as well as our business and buidings. Our planes are always hangered (not left outside in the weather), and we do maintain our aircraft. Our instructors (including myself) are not just employees here. This is our school, so we have a vested interest in it's success. We instruct because we want to, love to, and want to see other people succeed.
2. Is there anything to do in Kansas? That seems to be a big question that keeps coming up. Well, you can learn how to fly. And you can learn to do that in a place that offers a wide variety of airspaces and weather conditions. Is there nightlife. Not really. But you can fly, study, and interact with other people who have the same goals: to be the best pilot they can be. If you're more interested in partying, probably not the best place for you. There are several other ways to have fun around here, and it's not like you'll be here forever.
3. Are we here to take advantage of people - NO!
4. Do we require all of the money up front for the career programs - NO. We only ask that people pay installments as they begin each rating. It's like having money on account. I agree that no one should give anyone $30,000-$40,000 up front, and I don't believe that any school should ask for that without having some way to protect the student.
5. I am the one who sets prices and figures the costs associated with training at our school. Please trust that I am trying to give students the best deals without sacrificing quality of instruction , maintenance of our aircraft, or the future of our business. We try to do what's in the best interest of all who are involved.
If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns, just ask me. I'll be glad to answer them.

Sincerely,

Sherri DeSpain

Currently, I am attending Star-Bright in Iola, Kansas. I am having the time of my life. It is exactly what I have been searching for. If you want total immersion into flight training, this place is for you. The people are great, the housing is far above par, and the instructors both in the plane and on the ground are some of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met in the aviation industry. They truly do want to see you succeed in whatever your goals are, whether it be from a private to CFI/MEI/CFII. They have always brought 110 percent to the table day in and day out for the time that I have been here. They speak no lie about their services, and leave the ball ultimitely in your court. I welcome anyone to PM me with any questions regarding Star-Bright Aviation. This truly is the real deal.

I also thought I would relay a little personal information; I am working on my private accelerated down here, I am 24 years old, come from a larger city, and have been looking for a school since november of last year.

Hi Sherri,
I'm considering on returning for the instrument, like I said when I was there before. Can I get the special price? How is everything going? Nathan said there's a few new students so that's good. Tell Rob I say "hi".

Thanks,
Katie :)
