Associate Degree vs. Bachelor Degree

So, I attend Lewis University and I am pursuing a B.S. in Air Traffic Control Management. I notice they also give a A.S. in ATC and they say "The successful student will complete a minimum of 75 credit hours and receive a certificate from an approved FAA AT-CTI program."
Does this mean that you get the same CTI status whether you have an A.S, or a B.S.? If that is the case, I'm wasting a lot of money on additional classes!

Your degree is really irrelevant to the CTI thing. Course, every school requires that you pick up some sort of degree as a part of it... but since they can set their own requirements after meeting those of the FAA, you can really do what you want.

Having a Bachelor's over an AA will give you more points for transfer bids in the future, though. Not to mention that it'll open more doors for you if you move to a different career, give you more opportunities to learn stuff before you start, etc etc etc you don't need the guidance counselor talk.

I was just thinking that it may be best to just take the courses to get my A.S., apply CTI, while then continuing with the B.S. courses. I figure it will probably take at least a semester before I get hired.

in the sense of a CTI venue of getting hired by the FAA as a controller...associate or bachelor is the same thing. neither one is better than the other.
