Irregular Heart Beat

Stomp16

You mean Shennanigans?!?!
Hi Doc,

My father is 51yrs old and was just about to begin his PPL rating. He went in for a normal check-up and was told he has an irregular heartbeat due to the left ventricle being slightly larger than the right. They have him on medication that I am sure is disqualifying. My question is, is this a condition that he can get a special issuance for once off of the medications and given a clean bill of health or is he forever doomed to never take to the skies himself? Thanks for any info.

He can fly on medications with a Special Issuance. It depends on what type of arrhythmia he has and what medications he is taking.
