ERJ sim

Rumor has it that it is being parted out. With no AATP program anymore it's probably for the best. It has been collecting dust for 2.5 years.

Wonder if I was one of the last people to use that sim under the American Eagle RJ program.

It was still used in early 2009 for the High Altitude Endorsement Training. It`s crazy I was at the FSI center in Paris, which is the biggest in the world for Embraer, their sims are always full, running all week, they have classes coming in from all over the world, Embraer is selling a ton of legacy I think FSA could find some use for it. Btw Embraer here in Brazil is hiring Co-pilots on the 135-145, for ferry fligths and demonstrations. they have hired peoples with as low as 300 hours.

The SAAB 2000 doesn't get much use either. Tho I hear it's one of only two SAAB 2000 sims in the world.

There are some over in Europe, as far as I know at least 5 for the 2000.
The Saab in Vero was used by Joe Gibbs racing, but they just sold their plane, they sold it to my home town airline back in Europe.

I believe Hendrick uses it too. It's the only FSI SAAB 2000 sim in the U.S.

As for the ERJ sim, it was never part 142 certified like the SAAB. It was just used for the AATP program. Houston, St. Louis, and Dallas may need the parts.

They should start up another advanced training course (using the saab) for the instructors. With no motion, just to get use to the FMS and systems.

Think I said this 2 years ago.......

I think a course without being recognized from the FAA is useless and a waste of money.

Would be nice if they could do MCC courses, and Jet Transition on it. there is a big market for them, even here in Brazil most airlines require you to have the JTC, and it`s almost 6K dollars here. Every JAA student at FSA will have to get the MCC, it`s mandatory to apply as FO in Europe.

They used to offer Jet Transition in our CE500 sim. We don't have that sim anymore either. The King Air sim still sits in the Swiss building and I don't think it even works. The cost of these courses became too much and there was a loss of interest.

FSI has just signed a 20 years contract with Embraer to be the world only provider of training on the EMB Executive jets.

Only the midsize jets and up. The Phenoms (100 and 300) are done by Simuflite.

As far as I know all the simulators, 2 in Dallas and 1 in the UK are owned by Embraer, CAE just puts the logistic and there is no long term contract.
