General Opinions

Hi all. I'm thinking of doing my PPL with Skymates and was hoping to get some opinions on how things are now. Since the last post was more than a year ago, I guess things may have changed somewhat?

Basically I'm looking for info regarding aircraft and instructor availability? Are the aircraft down for maintenance often? Handling of administrative tasks? And just the overall "vibe" of the place if possible. :D Since I'm not a US resident, it's not possible for me to tour the school beforehand.

Would really appreciate any input you guys can provide. Thanks in advance.

I got my PPL there a few years ago, and enjoyed the whole experience. They have a great maintenance shop, and with several 152's and 172's I never had trouble with scheduling. I had to relocate out of state otherwise I would have continued my training with them. If I decide to get my CFI ratings that is one of the first places I will submit a resume to. They are a great bunch of people.

Hey thanks for the response. Ya, so far most of the things i've gathered about them have been extremely positive. And they've replied to all my emails within a day or 2. Planning to head over in 6-7 months time and really looking forward to it.

Ohh yes they are! Go there, you will never regret the choice. I know the boss of the school and I can assure you he is a great person, always helpful!
