NetworkJC: It's what YOU need to succeed Network, Network, NETWORK! [Photos from NJC Las Vegas 2005] and then...NETWORK...some more [Photos from Long Beach M&G 2007]
Jetcareers.com and Jetgirls.net are based on "Pay It Forward" initiatives. Pilots need mentors to help them achieve their ultimate goal(s), whatever they may be. It is typical for a career bound pilot, once he/she has reached their goal, to turn back to the younger generation and offer to help the next new kid on the block reach their goal(s). This is where the "pay it forward" mission statement comes into play.
With that, it's undeniable that NetworkJC is the ACTION behind the "pay it forward" attitude aspiring pilots and others offer to contribute to the aviation community year after year. Jetcareers, Jetgirls.net and NetworkJC are here to help the future pilot meet a mentor, someone that will help that individual reach each monumental stepping stone.
Activities provided at NetworkJC events typically include:
• Networking opportunities via mingle sessions to "break the ice" amongst your peers
• Airline Recruiting efforts and/or Job Fairs
• Learning something new such as Tower/TRACON Tours, roundtable workshops, mock interviews and/or simulator lessons
• Discussions on how to best achieve the next stepping stone as well as what to expect in an aviation lifestyle • Opportunities for your spouse and/or girlfriend to meet others who really can relate to the same lifestyle issues • Having FUN with your fellow and/or future crew members...getting to know them apart from their online personas.
but most of all...
• Future employment opportunities. Having another JC member offer to "walk your resume in" or coming out to our Airline Recruiting Events give you an opportunity to attain a major career goal. We're not talking just a guaranteed interview, we're talking JOBS! It has been simply stunning to see just how many JC members have received jobs simply via handshake through those who participate in Jetcareers, attend Meet & Greet functions, and/or the Airline Recruiting events held at NetworkJC.
- If you are or will be looking for work whether CFI, corporate, fractional, freight, commercial or other, you NEED to attend one of these functions. You will meet the folks that can and will provide that "foot in the door" you need to rise through the ranks.
Even if you are very new to Jetcareers or Jetgirls, the admin staff and JC/JG members recommend you attend at least one JC's events, whether a meet and greet or NJC, to meet your peeps offline and put some faces to names...be prepared and bring a resume as you should be ready to hand it over upon hearing the words "Where's your resume, I'll walk it in to my Chief Pilots office on Monday".
We're going on five years of very successful Meet & Greets as well as NetworkJC events using our "Pay It Forward" motto and these events are growing by leaps and bounds...
Read the testimonials, you'll see that the "proof is in the pudding!".
JC/JG members can and do provide an outstanding, valuable and much needed resource to the aviation community. NetworkJC is the accumulation of those resources...
Just some basic infomation about NetworkJC 2008...
NetworkJC is going back to a Las Vegas only annual event. Any other events will be official or unofficial Meet and Greets. If you'd like to see a Meet and Greet in your area, start a thread in the JC Events area under Meet and Greets and you're sure to get some responses.
Las Vegas is JC's annual event. It is known as our yearly social event consisting of adults only (18+), due of the location of the venue. Pilots (and their significant others) from around the nation as well as around the globe join us in Vegas to put faces to names and network. Last year, we hosted our first Airline Recruiting event which had tremendous turnout. This year, we plan to hold the recruiting effort again as well as incorporate more roundtable sessions, different behind the scenes tours, etc, thereby co-mingling the idea of social/networking with "knowledge camp". Spouses, girlfriends and guests are welcome to join in any of the workshops, tours and other events. Those wishing to come to the Las Vegas event that are under the age of 18 must submit a request to
